1Acquisition of land for new universities.

For the purposes of assisting in the establishment of any new university, a [F1 district council] may, with the approval of the Ministry of Education (in this Act referred to as “the Ministry” )—
a
acquire any land, whether situate within or without the [F1 district of that district coucil]; and
b
dispose of the land so acquired by way of gift to that university.

A district council may acquire land otherwise than by agreement for the purposes of this Act.]
