2Expenses of provision of water supply recoverable by district councils.N.I.

The amount of expenses which a [F1 district council] may recover in respect of the provision by them of a supply of water under section five of the Water Supplies and Sewerage Act (Northern Ireland), 1945 M1, shall be increased to fifty pounds, but such expenses shall be recoverable in respect only of certain things provided and done for the purposes of that section, and accordingly … residue, with Schedule, substitutes proviso to s.5(5) of 1945 c.17 (NI)

4Provision of sanitary conveniences, etc., at sports grounds, inns and other places of refreshment or entertainment.N.I.

The owner or occupier of any sports ground, or any inn, public-house, beer-house, eating-house, refreshment-house or place of public entertainment anywhere in Northern Ireland shall, if so required by notice in writing by the [F2 district council], provide and maintain thereon—

(a)in the case of a sports ground, such sanitary conveniences;

(b)in the case of any other such house or place as aforesaid, such urinals;

as may be so required, and accordingly … residue, with Schedule, substitutes s.44 of 1907 c.53

5Variation of certain stallages, rents and tolls.N.I.

(1)A [F3 district council] empowered by any enactment (whether public general or local)—

(a)to establish and regulate markets; or

(b)to provide and regulate slaughter-houses; and

(c)to take stallages, rents or tolls in respect of the use of markets or slaughter-houses;

may, notwithstanding anything in such enactment, from time to time—

(i)

vary the amount of any such stallages or rents;

(ii)

vary the kinds, descriptions, quantities or numbers of commodities or animals in respect of which such tolls may be taken;

(iii)

with the approval of the Ministry fix the tolls to be taken in respect of such markets or slaughter-houses;

and accordingly … residue, with Schedule, inserts s.105A in 1878 c.52

6Inclusion in slaughter-house tolls of charges for services.N.I.

It is hereby declared that a power conferred in whatsoever words by any enactment (whether public general or local) on any [F4 district council] to take tolls or make charges in respect of the use of a slaughter-house includes and always has included power to make charges in respect of any services provided by the [F4 council] at that slaughter-house, and accordingly … residue, with Schedule, inserts s.105B in 1878 c.52
