(1)The[F1 Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment may by order] apply to any substance any of the provisions of this Act specified in the[F1 order], with such modifications, if any, as may seem to[F1 that Department] to be desirable having regard to the nature of the substance to which the[F1 order] relates.
(2)While any[F1 order] relating to any substance is in force under this section, the provisions of this Act thereby applied shall have effect as if the substance were included in the definition of petroleum-spirit, but subject to such modifications, if any, as may be provided by the[F1 order].
(3)Any[F1 order] made under this section may be varied or revoked by any subsequent[F1 order].
