Section 34 ensures that if a young person with an IDP (being prepared or maintained) becomes 25, the duty to prepare or maintain it does not immediately cease, rather it continues until the end of the academic year as defined in subsection (2). This means that the body responsible for the IDP and the ALP it contains must continue to deliver the ALP until the end of the academic year.
