Such Members to be taxed at their Mansion Houses, &c.
And whereas several Members of Parliament by reason of their abiding within the Cities of London and Westminster or the Suburbs of the same dureing former Sessions of Parliament have by the Assessors there been taxed for their Personal Estates and to the Payment of Poll Money and the same Members have also been taxed for the same in the several Counties where their Mansion Houses or Chief Places of Residence have usually been and by Occasion of such Double Assessm[en]t. have been putt to unreasonable Vexation and Charge Be it therefore [X1further] enacted by the Authority aforesaid That the several Members of Parliament who att the Execution of this Act dureing this or any Session of Parliament shall sojourne or abide within the said Cities of London and Westminster or the Suburbs of the same shall for and in respect of the said Personal Tax of Foure Pence per Month & in respect of the said Taxes or Duties to be charged upon their Ready Money and Debts be assessed onely in the Places where such Members have their Mansion Houses or other Places where they most usually reside dureing the Intervals of the Sessions of Parliament Any thing herein contained to the contrary notwithstanding.
