And be it further enacted by the Authority aforesaid That if any such Broker or Brokers from and after the said First Day of May One thousand six hundred ninety seven shall directly or indirectly receive or take any Su[m]m exceeding Ten shillings per Cents. for Brokage hee or they shall for every such Offence forfeit the Su[m]m of Ten pounds.
