XXI.Proviso as to cancelling Bills as well for the said £1,500,000 as for the said £1,200,000 which shall not be cancelled by the Produce of the Supplies granted for the War in 1697 by the 25 March 1698, and for the Discharge of Persons from their said Contracts in respect of the Bills for the said £1,200,000.

And it is hereby also enacted That all the Bills which shall or may be issued as well for the said Fifteen hundred thousand Pounds as for the said Twelve hundred thousand Pounds which shall not be cancelled by the Produce of the said Funds or Supplies granted or to be granted for the Service of the Warr in this present Yeare One thousand six hundred ninety seven by the Five & twentieth Day of March One thousand six hundred ninety eight shall be satisfied taken upp and cancelled as well by the Arrears of the said Funds which shall be then standing out as by and out of the Moneys which shall arise by any Aid which shall be granted in the next Session of Parliament And that the Person or Persons which shall so contract and agree for advancing or lending Money for the exchanging such Bills of the said Twelve hundred thousand Pounds as shall be refused or not taken in Repayment & Satisfaction of Tallies and Orders of Loan in course as aforesaid shall be discharged from their respective Contracts as soon as the whole Su[m]ms by them agreed to be advanced shall be answered and paid by them according to their respective Agreements. And if the same be not called for or required from them by the said Five and twentieth Day of March One thousand six hundred ninety eight they shall thenceforth be im[m]ediately and absolutely discharged and acquitted from any further Compliance with their said Contracts.
