Taxation, etc. (No. 2) Act 1695

LXXX. How the said Sum of £140,000 appropriated to make good the Tunnage Duty is to be distributed.

And be it further enacted by the Authority aforesaid That the Su[m]m of One hundred and forty thousand Pounds herein before appropriated for answering and making good the Rates [X1 & Duties] of Tunnage which should arise and become payable by virtue of the said Tunnage Act for that purpose from the Seventeenth day of May One thousand six hundred ninety six to the Seventeenth day of May One thousand six hundred ninety seven shall be paid and distributed in the manner and proportion following (viz^t.) The Su[m]m of One hundred thousand Pounds part of the said Su[m]m of One hundred and forty thousand Pounds which by virtue of the said Tunnage Act should arise and become payable to the said Governor and Company for the Five Seventh parts of the Rates and Duties of Tunnage for the said Yeare ending as aforesaid shall in equal Proportions be Weekly paid to the said Governor and Company dureing the said Yeare out of the Moneys arising by the said intended Subscriptions or by virtue of this Act and also the Su[m]m of Forty thousand Pounds other part of the said Su[m]m of One hundred and Forty thousand Pounds for the Two Seventh parts of the said Rates and Duties payable by virtue of the same Act to the several Persons who have purchased Annuities upon or under the said Tunnage Act for the said Yeare ending as aforesaid shall be paid to the said p[er]sons so having purchased Annuities respectively by Quarterly Payments according to the times of Payment mentioned in the said Tunnage Act out of the Moneys ariseing by this Act as the said Moneys shall come into the Receipt of Excheq[uer].
