The Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (Commencement No.1) (Wales) Order 2012

The Welsh Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 120(2) and (3) of the Protection of Freedoms Act 20121.

Title, application and interpretation1

The title of this Order is the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (Commencement No.1) (Wales) Order 2012.

This Order applies in relation to Wales.

In this Order “the Act” (“y Ddeddf”) means the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.

Appointed day2

The provisions of the Act listed in paragraph (2) below come into force on 1 October 2012.

b

Schedule 4.

The Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (“the Act”) received Royal Assent on 1 May 2012.

Article 2 of this Order commences on 1 October 2012 provisions to recover unpaid parking charges in respect of the parking of a vehicle on relevant land in Wales.

“Relevant land” is defined within Schedule 4 to the Act as land other than a highway maintainable at public expense, a parking place provided and/or controlled by a traffic authority or any other land not subject to statutory parking control.
