The Education Act 2002 (Commencement No. 14) (Wales) Order 2011

The Welsh Ministers, in exercise of the power conferred upon the National Assembly for Wales by section 216(3), (4) and (5) of the Education Act 2002(1) and now vested in them(2), make the following Order:

Title and interpretation

1.—(1) The title of this Order is the Education Act 2002 (Commencement No. 14) (Wales) Order 2011.

(2) In this Order, the “2002 Act” (“Deddf 2002”) means the Education Act 2002.

Appointed day

2.—(1) The appointed day is 1 September 2011.

(2) The following provisions of the 2002 Act come into force on the appointed day—

(a) section 204;

(b) section 215(2) to the extent that it relates to the provisions of Schedule 22 specified below; and

(c) in Schedule 22, the repeal of chapter I of Part 4 of the Education Act 1997.

Explanatory Note

This Order brings into force on 1 September 2011 provisions of the Education Act 2002 specified in article 2 of the Order. These are the provisions that relate to the federation of schools.
