Section 20 of the Clean Air Act 1993 (“the 1993 Act”) places a general prohibition on the emission of smoke in smoke control areas.

SCHEDULECLASSES OF FIREPLACE WHICH ARE EXEMPT

The fireplace must be installed, maintained and operated in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions dated 4 December 2004, reference D13W together with manufacturer’s instructions dated 4 October 2004, reference GHD/DUN4B/1.
