NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE, WALES

Section 20 of the National Health Service Act 1977 imposed a duty on the Secretary of State, now exercisable by the National Assembly for Wales in respect of Wales, to establish Community Health Councils. Section 1 of the Health (Wales) Act 2003 provides for the repeal of section 20 of, and Schedule 7 to, the 1977 Act and also inserts a new section 20A and Schedule 7A into the 1977 Act.

PART IV

Meetings between Councils and relevant Local Health Boards21

It shall be the duty of each relevant Local Health Board to arrange, not less than once in every year, a meeting between members of the relevant Local Health Board, being not less than one-third of its members, and the members of the Council to discuss such matters as may be agreed between the Council and the Local Health Board.
