The National Assembly for Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred upon the Secretary of State by sections 75 and 104(1) of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991(1) and which are now exercisable by the National Assembly in relation to Wales(2), hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation, commencement and application

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Street Works (Inspection Fees) (Amendment) (Wales) Regulations 2002 and come into force on 1st January 2003.

(2) These Regulations apply to Wales.

Increase in the inspection fee

2.  In regulation 3(1) of the Street Works (Inspection Fees) Regulations 1992(3) there is to be substituted for the figure of “£15.50” there the figure of “£20”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations provide for an increase from £15.50 to £20 in the fee payable by undertakers for inspections of their work by street authorities in Wales under regulation 3(1) of the Street Works (Inspection Fees) Regulations 1992 (S.I. 1992/1688).

The powers of the Secretary of State, insofar as exercisable in relation to Wales, have been transferred to the National Assembly for Wales: see Article 2 of and Schedule 1 to the National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/672).
