In these Regulations —

• “the Act” (“y Ddeddf”) means the Local Government Act 2000;

• “firefighter” (“diffoddwr tân”) means a person who is a member of a fire brigade maintained by a fire authority and whose conditions of service involve a liability to engage in fire-fighting within the meaning of section 38(1) of the Fire Services Act 19472;

• “fire authority” (“awdurdod tân”) means an authority which for the time being is constituted a fire authority by the Fire Services Act 1947 or any combination scheme made thereunder;

• “teacher” (“athro neu athrawes”) means a person who is employed as a teacher by a Local Education Authority.
