3.—(1) The Assembly may, in accordance with these Regulations, make payments by way of incentive for persons to undergo training to become teachers of mathematics or science, if such persons are eligible for student support under regulations made under section 22 of the Teaching and Higher Education Act 1998(1)
(2) A first payment not exceeding £2,500 for any person shall be payable in accordance with regulation 4.
(3) A second payment not exceeding £2,500 for any person shall be payable in accordance with regulation 5.
