1. These Regulations may be cited as the M42 Motorway (Junction 3) (50 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit) Regulations 2023 and come into force on 1st February 2023.
2. In these Regulations—
“the M42” means the motorway known by that name;
“carriageway” and “motorway” have the same meaning as in the Motorways Traffic (England and Wales) Regulations 1982(1);
“off-slip road” means a road at junction 3 of the M42 intended for the use of traffic exiting the motorway; and
“Portway Island” means the roundabout at junction 3 of the M42.
3. No person shall drive a vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 miles per hour on–
(a)that length of the off-slip road on the eastbound carriageway beginning at a point which is 180 metres west of its junction with Portway Island and ending at that junction; or
(b)that length of the off-slip road on the westbound carriageway beginning at a point which is 112 metres east of its junction with Portway Island and ending at that junction.
