PART 1 Marriage Act 1949

Amendment of Part 3 of the 1949 Act (marriage under superintendent registrar’s certificate)

14.—(1) Section 27A of the 1949 Act (additional information required in certain cases)(1) is amended as follows.

(2) In subsection (6), for “marriage notice book” substitute “marriage register”.

(3) Omit subsection (6A).

Section 27A was inserted by paragraph 6 of Schedule 1 to the Marriage Act 1983 and was amended by paragraph 9 of Schedule 14 to the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999, paragraph 5 of Schedule 7 to the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013, paragraph 3(2) of Schedule 4 to the Immigration Act 2014, and S.I. 2009/2821.
