The European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (Commencement No. 5, Transitional Provisions and Amendment) Regulations 2020

Provisions coming into force on exit day

2.  The following provisions of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 come into force on exit day(1)—

(a)section 7(1) and (6) (status of retained EU law);

(b)section 23(5) (consequential provision) so far as relating to any provision in paragraph (c)(i) and (ii); and

(c)the following paragraphs of Schedule 8—

(i)7 and 8 (existing powers to make subordinate legislation etc.); and

(ii)10 to 12 (future powers to make subordinate legislation).

“Exit day” means 31st January 2020 at 11 p.m. in accordance with section 20(1) of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c. 16). The definition of “exit day” was amended by S.I. 2019/718, 2019/859 and 2019/1423.
