Coming into force

The Secretary of State has been designated1 for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19722 in relation to measures relating to the environment.

The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972, sections 59, 69, 71, 71A(1) and (2), 74 and 333(1) and (2A) of the Town and Country Planning Act 19903, sections 10(3) and 93 of the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 19904, sections 335(2)(b) and (d) and (7)(a), 343(1)(c) and 420(1)(b) of the Greater London Authority Act 19995 and sections 36(1) and (2)(d) and (l) and 122(3)(b) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 20046.
