The Police Act 1996 M1 is amended as follows.

In section 88 (liability for wrongful acts of constables), in subsection (7), omit paragraphs (a) and (b) (together with the “or” at the end of paragraph (b)).

In section 89 (assaults on constables), in subsection (5), omit paragraphs (a) and (b) (together with the “or” at the end of paragraph (b)).
