Exiting The European Union

The European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (Exit Day) (Amendment) Regulations 2019

Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1

The day on which the Treaties(1) are to cease to apply to the United Kingdom in accordance with Article 50(3) of the Treaty on European Union is different from that specified in the definition of “exit day” in section 20(1) of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018(2).

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 20(4) of that Act, makes the following Regulations.

In accordance with paragraph 14 of Schedule 7 to that Act, a draft of this instrument has been laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.

“The Treaties” has the meaning given in section 20(5) of the European Union (Withdrawal) 2018 (c. 16).
