The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 23(1) of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018(1).
The requirements of paragraph 17 of Schedule 7 to that Act (relating to the appropriate Parliamentary procedure for these Regulations) have been satisfied.
1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Definition of Treaties Orders) (Revocation) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018 and come into force on exit day.
2. The Orders in Council set out in the Schedule (which are Definition of Treaties Orders under section 1(3) of the European Communities Act 1972(2)) are revoked.

These Regulations are made in consequence of the repeal of the European Communities Act 1972 (c. 68) (the “ECA 1972”) by section 1 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c.16).
They revoke the Orders in Council listed in the Schedule, all of which were made under section 1(3) of the ECA 1972.
Those Orders in Council provided for the treaties, international agreements or other relevant texts that they specify to be regarded as EU Treaties as defined by section 1(2) of the ECA 1972. The principal effect of treaties, international agreements or other relevant texts being regarded as an EU Treaty was that the provisions of section 2 of the ECA 1972 (which provide for the implementation of EU Treaties) applied to it.
A full Impact Assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
