Coming into force in accordance with article 1
The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1(1) and (2) and 3(2) of the Protection of Wrecks Act 19731 (“the Act”).
The Secretary of State is satisfied, in relation to the five sites identified in Schedule 1 to this Order, as to the matters set out in section 1(1) of the Act.
In accordance with section 1(4) of the Act, the Secretary of State has consulted such persons as the Secretary of State considers appropriate having regard to the purposes of this Order.
Citation and commencementI11
This Order may be cited as the Protection of Wrecks (Designation) (England) (No. 2) Order 2017 and comes into force on the day after the day on which it is laid.
Identification and sites and designation of restricted areasI22

The five sites listed in Schedule 1 are sites where a vessel or vessels lie, or are supposed to lie, wrecked on or in the sea bed.

Four sites are listed in the first column of Table 1 of Schedule 1 and the position of each site is given in the corresponding entry in the second column of Table 12.

For each site so listed, the area within the distance from the site specified in the corresponding entry in the third column of Table 1 is designated as a restricted area.

The fifth site in respect of which this Order is made is the area bounded by straight lines whose corners lie at the points specified in Table 2 of Schedule 1.

The area identified in paragraph (4) is designated as a restricted area.

A restricted area designated under paragraph (3) or (5) does not include any part of that area which is above the high water mark of ordinary spring tides.
