SCHEDULE 1 E+W Modifications of police and crime commissioner enactments in their application to the mayor

28.  For section 63, substitute— E+W

“(1) Subsection (2) applies where—

(a) the deputy mayor is appointed under section 107C of the 2009 Act to act for the mayor because the mayor is unable to act; and

(b) the mayor does not cease to be unable to act during the period of 6 months beginning with the day on which the acting mayor was appointed.

(2) At the end of that 6 month period—

(a) the mayor ceases to be the mayor, and

(b) accordingly, the office of mayor becomes vacant.”.
