ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS

These Regulations update references in Public General Acts, local Acts and Northern Ireland Orders in Council to terms which have been superseded by amendments made by the Communications Act 2003 (c.21) and by the Digital Economy Act 2017 (c.30) (“the 2017 Act”). In particular, the 2017 Act enacts a new electronic communications code and these Regulations largely update references to that code in legislation so that they refer to the equivalent provisions of the newly enacted code.
