The Newark and Sherwood (Electoral Changes) Order 2016

Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2)
Under section 92(2) of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 20071 Newark and Sherwood District Council made recommendations to the Local Government Boundary Commission for England2 for the related alteration of the boundaries of wards within that Council’s area.
The Local Government Boundary Commission for England has decided to give effect to the recommendations and makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 92(3) of the Act:
Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Newark and Sherwood (Electoral Changes) Order 2016.

This Order comes into force—
a
for the purpose of proceedings preliminary or relating to the election of councillors, on the day after the day on which it is made;
b
for all other purposes, on the ordinary day of election of councillors3 in 2019.
Interpretation2
In this Order—
“district ward” means a district ward established by article 3 of the Newark and Sherwood (Electoral Changes) Order 20144;
“the map” means the map marked “Map referred to in the Newark and Sherwood District Council (Reorganisation of Community Governance) Order 2014”, held by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England5.

The area marked “Area A” on the map ceases to be part of the Newark Beacon district ward and becomes part of the Balderton North & Coddington district ward.

The area marked “Area E” on the map ceases to be part of the Newark Castle district ward and becomes a part of the Farndon & Fernwood district ward.
