The Infrastructure Act 2015 (Commencement No.1) Regulations 2015

The Secretary of State for Transport makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 57(1)(b), (4)(a) and (7)(c) of the Infrastructure Act 2015(1).

Citation

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Infrastructure Act 2015 (Commencement No.1) Regulations 2015.

Provisions coming into force on 5th March 2015

2.  The following provisions of the Infrastructure Act 2015 come into force on 5th March 2015—

(a)Part 1 (strategic highways companies) for remaining purposes,

(b)section 24 (native and non-native species etc) so far as it relates to England, and

(c)section 25 (Part 4: supplementary) so far as it relates to England.

Provisions coming into force on 12th April 2015

3.  The following provisions of the Infrastructure Act 2015 come into force on 12th April 2015—

(a)section 23 (environmental control of animal and plant species) so far as it relates to England,

(b)section 41 (maximising economic recovery of UK petroleum),

(c)section 42 (levy on holders of certain energy industry licences), and

(d)Schedule 7 (the licensing levy).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations are the first commencement regulations made under the Infrastructure Act 2015 (c.7) (“the Act”).

Regulation 2 brings into force on 5th March 2015 Part 1 for remaining purposes and, in respect of England only, sections 24 and 25 of the Act.

Regulation 3 brings into force on 12th April 2015 sections 23 (in respect of England only), 41 and 42 of, and Schedule 7 to, the Act.
