The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 44(9)(a) and 143(1) of the Local Government Finance Act 19881:

Application, citation, and commencement1

This Order, which applies in relation to England only, may be cited as the Non-Domestic Rating (Small Business Rate Relief) (England) (Amendment) Order 2015 and comes into force on 2nd March 2015.

Amendment of the Non-Domestic Rating (Small Business Rate Relief) (England) Order 20122

The Non-Domestic Rating (Small Business Rate Relief) (England) Order 20122 is amended as follows.

In the heading of article 4 for “31st March 2015” substitute “31st March 2016”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Non-Domestic Rating (Small Business Rate Relief) (England) Order 2012 to make provision for a continued temporary increase in the level of small business rate relief for the financial year beginning on 1st April 2015, which would otherwise have ended on 31st March 2015.

An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument because it amends an existing local tax regime. Publication of a full impact assessment is not necessary for such legislation.
