The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 134 and 135 of, and paragraph 1 of Schedule 26 to, the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 19801, makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Urban Development Corporations in England (Area and Constitution) Order 2014 and shall come into force on 31st March 2014.

Revocations2

The following are revoked—

a

the Thurrock Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) Order 20032;

b

the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) Order 20043; and

c

article 2 of the WNDC Order.

The West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) (Amendment) Order 20114 is revoked with effect from 31st July 2014.

So much of the WNDC Order as has not been revoked is revoked with effect from 31st July 2014.

In this article “the WNDC Order” means the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) Order 20045.

This Order revokes the Orders which established the urban development areas in Thurrock, the London Thames Gateway and West Northamptonshire and which designated urban development corporations for those areas.
