The Electricity (Register) Order 1990 prescribed the hours during which the register maintained by the Director General of Electricity Supply (later the Gas and Electricity Markets Authority) under section 49 of the Electricity Act 1989 (c.29) was to be kept open for public inspection and the fees payable to the Director for the supply of copies or extracts from that register.

A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen. The gas and electricity registers are now available online free of charge.
