1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Local Authorities (Exemption from Political Restrictions) (Designation) Regulations 2012 and shall come into force on 26th July 2012.
(2) In these Regulations—
“the 1989 Act” means the Local Government and Housing Act 1989;
“head of staff” means the most senior employee of the local authority concerned.
