22. In direction 37 (restrictions on the placing of temporary signs), after paragraph (1), insert—
“(1A) The sign shown in diagram 7014.1 may, in relation to a bridge under which a road passes, be placed only in connection with works involving a temporary or permanent reduction in the maximum height of vehicle able to pass, on the road, under the bridge (in this direction, “temporary reduction” and “permanent reduction” respectively).
(1B) Where the sign shown in diagram 7014.1 is placed in connection with works involving a temporary reduction, it may be retained only until completion of those works.
(1C) Where the sign shown in diagram 7014.1 is placed in connection with works involving a permanent reduction, it may be retained not later than the end of the period of 6 months beginning with completion of those works.”.
