7.—(1) The Children Act 1989(1) is amended as follows.
(2) In section 62 (duties of local authorities)(2), in subsection (6)(c), after “Care Standards Act 2000” insert “or section 20 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008”.
(3) In section 105 (interpretation)(3), in subsection (1), for the definition of “independent hospital” substitute—
““independent hospital”—
in relation to England, means a hospital as defined by section 275 of the National Health Service Act 2006 that is not a health service hospital as defined by that section; and
in relation to Wales, has the same meaning as in the Care Standards Act 2000;”.
Section 62(6)(c) was amended by the 2000 Act, Schedule 4, paragraph 14(1), (10)(a).
The definition of independent hospital was inserted by the 2000 Act, Schedule 4, paragraph 14(1), (23)(a)(vi).
