The Legal Services Act 2007 (Commencement No. 9) Order 2010

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order is the ninth commencement order made under the Legal Services Act 2007 (c. 29) (“the 2007 Act”).

Article 2 commences sections 80 and 81 of the 2007 Act on 30th November 2010. Section 80 enables the Lord Chancellor, on the recommendation of the Legal Services Board, to make an order either establishing new appellate bodies for the purposes of appeals under Part 5 of the 2007 Act (alternative business structures) or making provision to enable existing bodies to hear such appeals. Section 81 sets out procedural requirements about recommendations by the Legal Services Board for an order under section 80.
