The Education (Chief Inspector of Education and Training in Wales) Order 2010

The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

The Welsh Ministers have, in accordance with section 19(6) of the Education Act 2005(1), advised the Secretary of State for Wales on a recommendation to be made to Her Majesty as to the exercise of the power conferred by section 19(1) of that Act.

The Secretary of State for Wales has made a recommendation to Her Majesty in accordance with that advice.

Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 19(1) of the Education Act 2005 and in accordance with that recommendation, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered as follows:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Education (Chief Inspector of Education and Training in Wales) Order 2010 and comes into force on 15th February 2010.

2.  Mrs Ann Keane is hereby appointed Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education and Training in Wales or Prif Arolygydd Ei Mawrhydi dros Addysg a Hyfforddiant yng Nghymru commencing on 15th February 2010 and ending on 30th September 2010.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order appoints Mrs Ann Keane to be Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education and Training in Wales or Prif Arolygydd Ei Mawrhydi dros Addysg a Hyfforddiant yng Nghymru commencing on 15th February 2010 and ending on 30th September 2010. The present appointment of Dr William Skene Maxwell under the Education (Chief Inspector of Education and Training in Wales) (No. 3) Order 2007 ends on 14th February 2010.
