These Regulations amend the School Budget Shares (Prescribed Purposes) (England) Regulations 2002.
They enable the governing bodies of maintained schools to use their school budget shares to provide staff, goods, services, accommodation and other resources and make financial contributions to a fund established either by the Children’s Services Authority(1) in whose area the school is situated or by any of the authority’s relevant partners, with a view to improving the well-being of children and relevant young persons in that area, in accordance with section 10 of the Children Act 2004.
They also enable these governing bodies to make the same types of provision for purposes connected with the functions of the Children’s Trust Board in whose area the school is situated, in accordance with section 12C of the Children Act 2004.
A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
