1. This Order may be cited as the A46 Trunk Road (Newark to Widmerpool Improvement and Slip Roads) (Detrunking) Order 2009 and shall come into force on 30th January 2009.
2. In this Order—
(i)“the new trunk roads” means the new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct referred to in article 2(2)(i) of the A46 Trunk Road (Newark to Widmerpool Improvement and Slip Roads) Order 2009.(3);
(ii)“the plan” means the plan numbered HA/10/MP/092 shown on 3 sheets and marked “The A46 Trunk Road (Newark to Widmerpool Improvement and Slip Roads)(Detrunking) Order 2009” signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at Department of Communities and Local Government-DfT Records Management Branch, Floor 13 (IMD), Ashdown House, St Leonards on Sea, Hastings, East Sussex TN37 7GA
(iii)“the trunk road” means the Newark to Widmerpool Trunk Road (A46)
3. The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the Nottinghamshire County Council that the new trunk roads are open for traffic.

The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is situated between Widmerpool and Newark and is located between;
(i)The point on the plan markedA, about 640m north of Widmerpool junction and the point on the plan marked B, about 290m south of Roehoe junction
(ii)The point on the plan marked C, about 250m north of Owthorpe Road junction and the point on the plan marked D about 340m north east of Colston Gate junction.
(iii)The point on the plan marked E, about 110 m south west of Nottingham Road junction and the point on the plan marked F, about 20m north east of Nottingham Road junction.
(iv)The point on the plan marked G, about 190 m north east of Nottingham Road junction and the point on the plan marked H, about 120m south west of Cropwell Road junction.
(v)The point on the plan marked J, about 340m north of Cropwell Road junction and the point on the plan marked K, at Saxondale Roundabout.
(vi)The point on the plan marked L, at Saxondale Roundabout and the point on the plan marked M at Margidunum Roundabout.
(vii)The point on the plan marked N, at Margidunum Roundabout and the point on the plan marked P about 300m north east of Closes Side Lane junction.
(viii)The point on the plan marked Q, about 30m south west of Lodge Lane junction and the point on the plan marked R, about 130m north east of Lodge Lane junction.
(ix)The point on the plan marked S, about 60m south west of Longhedge Lane junction and the point on the plan marked T the junction with Farndon Road.

This Order authorises the detrunking of a length of the existing A46 Trunk Road, between the lengths described below.
The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is situated between Widmerpool and Newark and;
(x)A point, about 640m north of Widmerpool junction and a point, about 290m south of Roehoe junction
(xi)A point, about 250m north of Owthorpe Road junction and a point about 340m north east of Colston Gate junction.
(xii)A point, about 110 m south west of Nottingham Road junction and a point about 20m north east of Nottingham Road junction.
(xiii)A point, about 190m north east of Nottingham Road junction and a point about 120m south west of Cropwell Road junction.
(xiv)A point, about 340m north of Cropwell Road junction to Saxondale Roundabout.
(xv)Saxondale Roundabout to Margidunum Roundabout.
(xvi)Margidunum Roundabout and a point about 300m north east of Closes Side Lane junction.
(xvii)A point, about 30m south west of Lodge Lane junction and a point, about 130m north east of Lodge Lane junction.
(xviii)A point, about 60m south west of Longhedge Lane junction to the junction with Farndon Road.
