The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council
Her Majesty, by virtue of the powers conferred upon Her by section 50(13) of the British Nationality Act 1981(1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is ordered, as follows—
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the British Nationality Act 1981 (Amendment of Schedule 6) Order 2009.
(2) This Order shall come into force on 14th November 2009.
2. Schedule 6 to the British Nationality Act 1981 is amended by substituting the words “St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha” for the words “St Helena and Dependencies”.

This Order amends the list of British overseas territories in Schedule 6 to the British Nationality Act 1981 because the St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha Constitution Order 2009 changes the name of the territory of St Helena and Dependencies to St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha.
A regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
