The General Dental Council has made the General Dental Council (Constitution of Committees) Rules 2009, which are set out in the Schedule to this Order, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 2(6) and (6A) and 50C(5) and (6) of, and paragraph 8 of Schedule 1 to, the Dentists Act 1984(1).
By virtue of section 50C(2) of that Act, such Rules shall not come into force until approved by Order of the Privy Council.
Their Lordships, having taken these Rules into consideration, are pleased to and do approve them.
1984 c. 24. In section 2, subsection (6) was inserted by S.I. 2001/3926 and amended by S.I. 2009/1182, and subsection (6A) was inserted by S.I. 2009/1182. Paragraph 8 of Schedule 1 was amended by S.I. 2001/2011, 2005/2011 and 2009/1182.
