The Secretary of State, in exercise of the power conferred by section 243(1) of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007(1), makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 Consequential Provisions Order 2008 and comes into force on 30th June 2008.
2. In the Race Relations Act 1976 (Statutory Duties) Order 2003(2) in Schedule 1 (bodies and other persons required to publish race equality schemes by 31st May 2004), omit the entry in respect of the Commission for Patient and Public Involvement in Health.
3. In the Disability Discrimination (Public Authorities) (Statutory Duties) Regulations 2005(3) in Part 1 of Schedule 1, omit the entry in respect of the Commission for Patient and Public Involvement in Health.

This Order makes amendments consequential to the abolition of the Commission for Patient and Public Involvement in Health (“CPPIH”). CPPIH is abolished by section 232 of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 (c.28).
Article 2 of this Order amends Schedule 1 to the Race Relations Act 1976 (Statutory Duties) Order 2003 (S.I. 2003/3006) to remove the reference to CPPIH from the list of bodies required to publish a race equality scheme.
Article 3 of this Order amends Schedule 1 to the Disability Discrimination (Public Authorities) (Statutory Duties) Regulations 2005 (S.I. 2005/2966) to remove the reference to CPPIH from the list of bodies required to publish a disability equality scheme.
A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
