The Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 (Commencement No. 1) (England) Order 2008
Made
The Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 61(5) and 65 of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 20061.
Citation and interpretation1

This Order may be cited as the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 (Commencement No. 1) (England) Order 2008.

In this Order, “the Act” means the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006.
Provisions coming into force on the 17th December 20082
17th December 2008 is the day appointed for the coming into force of the following provisions of the Act for the purposes of making regulations2—
a
section 63(1) (amendments and repeals) in so far as it relates to the provisions of Schedule 9 set out in paragraphs (b) and (c);
b
i
paragraph 5(2), (3), (6) and (7), in relation to England;
ii
paragraph 5(4);
iii
paragraph 5(1), in so far as it relates to the provisions specified in sub-paragraphs (i) and (ii);
iv
paragraph 6(2), (3) and (6), in relation to England;
v
paragraph 6(4);
vi
paragraph 6(1), in so far as it relates to the provisions specified in sub-paragraphs (iv) and (v);
vii
paragraph 7, in relation to England;
c
paragraph 2, in so far as it relates to the provisions specified in paragraph (b).
