This Order is made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 89(3) of the Traffic Management Act 2004(1) and by paragraph 8(1) of Schedule 8 and paragraph 3(1) of Schedule 10 to that Act.
Buckinghamshire County Council has applied to the Secretary of State for an order to be made under these powers with respect to part of its area.
The Secretary of State has consulted the Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police in accordance with the requirements of paragraphs 8(3) of Schedule 8 and 3(4) of Schedule 10.
Accordingly, the Secretary of State for Transport(2) makes this Order.
1. This Order may be cited as the Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (County of Buckinghamshire) (District of Wycombe) Designation Order 2008 and shall come into force on 1st October 2008.
2. The Secretary of State designates the area described in the Schedule as—
(a)a civil enforcement area for parking contraventions; and
(b)a special enforcement area.
3. The Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (County of Buckinghamshire) (High Wycombe Town Centre) Order 1997(3) and the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (County of Buckinghamshire) (High Wycombe Town Centre) (Amendment) Order 1999(4) are revoked.

Article 2
This Order applies to the area of the District of Wycombe except—
(a)the section of the M40, including the on and off slip roads, that lies within the area;
(b)the section of the A404 south of the Handy Cross roundabout, including the on and off slip roads, that lies within the area; and
(c)the Handy Cross roundabout.
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order designates the area described in the Schedule as a civil enforcement area and a special enforcement area for the purposes of Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004. The Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (County of Buckinghamshire) (High Wycombe Town Centre) Order 1997 and the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (County of Buckinghamshire) (High Wycombe Town Centre) (Amendment) Order 1999 are revoked.
No Impact Assessment has been prepared for this instrument as it has no significant effect on the cost to business and the voluntary sector.
The Secretary of State is the “appropriate national authority” for England for the purposes of Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 under section 92 of that Act.
