The Treasury make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 29(5) of the Finance Act 2008(1).
1. This Order may be cited as the Finance Act 2008, Section 29 (Appointed Day) Order 2008.
2. The day appointed for the purposes of section 29 of the Finance Act 2008 (cap on R&D aid) is 1st August 2008.

This Order appoints 1st August 2008 as the appointed day for the purposes of section 29 of the Finance Act 2008 (cap on R&D aid). The amendments made by Part 2 of Schedule 10 to that Act have effect by reference to the appointed day.
