The Treasury makes this Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 10(1) of the Government Resources and Accounts Act 2000(1).

The Treasury has consulted the Welsh Ministers where they have thought it appropriate.

Title and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Whole of Government Accounts (Designation of Bodies) (No. 2) Order 2008 and shall come into force on 8th August 2008.

Designation

2.  The bodies listed in the Schedule to this Order are designated in respect of the financial year ending on 31st March 2008 for the purposes of section 10 of the Government Resources and Accounts Act 2000.

Revocation

3.  The Whole of Government Accounts (Designation of Bodies) Order 2008(2) is revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order re-enacts, with drafting and other minor amendments, The Whole of Government Accounts (Designation of Bodies) Order 2008 (S.I. 2008/1440). It designates the bodies listed in the Schedule in relation to the financial year ending on 31st March 2008 for the purposes of the Government Resources and Accounts Act 2000. The effect of this designation is that these bodies are required to prepare and present to the Treasury such financial information in relation to that financial year as the Treasury require to enable them to prepare Whole of Government Accounts.
