EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations increase the fees which are payable under the Public Service Vehicles (Operators’ Licences) (Fees) Regulations 1995.

The fee increases, together with percentage increases, are shown in the table below. The fees were last increased on 1 April 2007.

The fees payable for issue of a disc under section 18 of the 1981 Act remain unchanged. Such fees are charged for each month or part of a month during which the disc is expressed to be in force and stand at £6, or £7 if an election has been made under regulation 11(4) of the Public Service Vehicles Operators’ Licences Regulations 1995 to pay annually. The fee payable for issue of a new disc in place of one lost or destroyed also remains unchanged at £15.

The Regulations also contain transitional provisions in respect of fees for the grant of a standard or a restricted operators’ licence.
