28.—(1) Subject to paragraph (2), the Electricity Generating Stations and Overhead Lines (Inquiries Procedure) Rules 1990(1) (“the 1990 Rules”) are revoked.
(2) The 1990 Rules shall continue to apply in relation to any inquiry which commenced before the date on which these Rules come into force and for the purposes of this rule an inquiry shall be taken to have commenced on the day on which the Secretary of State issued the relevant notice under the 1990 Rules(2) of his intention to cause the inquiry to be held.
The definition of “relevant notice” in the 1990 Rules is contained in the definition of “relevant date” in rule 2(1).
