This Order brings into force section 25 of the Armed Forces Act 2001. Section 25 inserts new sections into the Army Act 1955 (c. 18), the Air Force Act 1955 (c. 19) and the Naval Discipline Act 1957 (c. 53). The new sections make provisions equivalent to that provided for in the civilian system by section 2 of the Criminal Procedure (Attendance of Witnesses) Act 1965 (c. 25) for a judge advocate at a court martial to make an order compelling a person not subject to naval, military or air force law to attend court and give evidence.
