This Order brings into force, as respects England, the provisions of Part 3 (Permit Schemes) of the Traffic Management Act 2004 (“the 2004 Act”).
Article 2 brings sections 32, 37 and 39 into force on 1st December 2007. Section 37 enables the Secretary of State to make regulations relating to permit schemes while section 32 and 39 define what is meant by “permit scheme” and provide for other definitions.
Article 3 brings the rest of Part 3 into force on 1st April 2008. This remaining part of Part 3 provides for the preparation and implementation of permit schemes, their variation and revocation and Crown application.
