EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Northern Ireland Assembly (Elections) Order 2001(S.I.2001/2599)(“2001 Order”) which applies provisions of the Representation of the People Act 1983 (c.2) to elections to the Northern Ireland Assembly with the general modifications in article 3(3) and the specific modifications in Schedule 1 to the Order . This Order amends the 2001 Order to apply the provisions of the Representation of the People Act 1983 relating to election expenses which were inserted by the Electoral Administration Act 2006 (c.22) to elections to the Northern Ireland Assembly.
