The Gambling Act 2005 (Amendment of Schedule 6) Order 2007

Coming into force in accordance with article 1

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 351 of the Gambling Act 2005(1).

A draft of this Order has been laid before Parliament in accordance with section 355(6) of that Act, and has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Gambling Act 2005 (Amendment of Schedule 6) Order 2007 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which the Order is made.

Amendment of Schedule 6 to the Gambling Act 2005

2.  In Schedule 6 to the Gambling Act 2005—

(a)Part 2 shall be amended by inserting the following entry after the entry relating to the Financial Services Authority—

The Horserace Betting Levy Board; and

(b)Part 3 shall be amended by inserting the following entry before the entry relating to the England and Wales Cricket Board Limited—

The British Boxing Board of Control Limited.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends Parts 2 and 3 of Schedule 6 to the Gambling Act 2005.

Part 2 of Schedule 6 lists bodies and persons who are able to exchange information with the Gambling Commission under powers conferred by section 30 of the Gambling Act 2005. The Order amends Part 2 by adding an entry for the Horserace Betting Levy Board to that list.

Part 3 of Schedule 6 lists bodies to whom the Gambling Commission may provide information in exercise of its functions. The Order amends Part 3 by adding an entry for the British Boxing Board of Control Limited to that list.

A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
